Damsel with a Twist
Damsel takes the classic fairy tale and flips it on its head. Instead of a damsel in distress waiting to be rescued by a prince, we get Elodie, played by Millie Bobby Brown, who’s anything but helpless. When she gets kidnapped by a dragon, she’s not scared – she’s mad! Brooke plays Floria, Elodie’s little sister, who gets caught up in this crazy adventure.
Alternate Endings?
Did you know Damsel might have had a totally different ending? Brooke revealed they actually filmed two versions! She couldn’t tell us exactly what happened in the other ending, but it makes you wonder what else could have happened to Elodie and Floria.
Millie Bobby Brown: Big Star, Bigger Heart
Brooke told us all about working with Millie Bobby Brown. Even though Millie is a huge star, Brooke says she was super nice and always willing to help out. Millie even gave Brooke some acting tips! “She told me to just be myself and have fun with the character,” Brooke shared. Sounds like Millie is a natural mentor on top of being a fantastic actress!
Going from TV to the Big Screen
This is Brooke’s first movie role, and it’s a big jump from TV shows. Brooke says filming a movie is different because you shoot everything in order, unlike TV where scenes can be filmed all over the place. She also says there’s more time to develop the characters in a movie.
Bringing Floria to Life
Brooke describes Floria as a happy and innocent girl who gets swept up in her big sister’s adventure. She doesn’t quite understand the danger they’re in, but she trusts Elodie completely. Brooke says she loved playing a character who is so full of life and has such a strong bond with her sister.
Life on Set
Filming a movie can be a lot of work, but Brooke says it was also a lot of fun. She made new friends with the other cast members and got to learn from the experienced crew. There were even some funny moments on set! Brooke remembers one time when she accidentally tripped and fell, and the whole crew started laughing. “It was embarrassing at first,” Brooke says, “but then we all just started laughing together. It helped break the ice and made everyone feel more relaxed.”
Words of Wisdom for Young Actors
Brooke has some great advice for young people who dream of being actors. “Just never give up on your dreams,” she says. “There will be tough times, but if you keep working hard and believe in yourself, you can achieve anything.” She also says it’s important to take acting classes and practice your skills as much as possible.
