“She was a very powerful woman, and she was not afraid to use her power,” Vergara said. “She was also a very ruthless woman, and she was not afraid to get her hands dirty.”

Vergara has undergone a dramatic physical transformation for the role of Griselda Blanco. She has gained weight and has had her hair and makeup done to make her look older.
“I wanted to make sure that I looked as much like Griselda Blanco as possible,” Vergara said. “I wanted people to forget that they were watching Sofia Vergara, and I wanted them to see Griselda Blanco.”
