Tiffany Stratton, a rising star in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), isn’t a fan of being compared to another wrestler. This other wrestler isn’t even from WWE, but instead wrestles for a different company called All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

Stratton recently joined WWE’s main shows, SmackDown and Raw, after a good performance in the Royal Rumble earlier this year. She’s been climbing the ranks quickly and even participated in a big match called the Elimination Chamber. With all this attention, fans have started comparing her to other wrestlers, and one name keeps coming up: Mariah May.

May wrestles for AEW and both she and Stratton are young women with blonde hair. That’s where most of the comparisons seem to stop though. Stratton isn’t happy about being compared to May just because of their hair color.

In an interview, Stratton said that these comparisons are “annoying.” She explained that just because they have the same hair color doesn’t mean they are the same wrestler or that they’re copying each other. She also mentioned that fans compare her to other wrestlers too, like Trish Stratus and Charlotte Flair.

Stratton wants everyone to know that she’s on her own path and wants to be recognized for her own unique skills and personality. Even though she doesn’t like the comparisons, Stratton did say that she thinks May is a great wrestler.

Here’s a deeper look at why wrestlers might not like being compared to others:

  • It downplays their hard work: Wrestlers train incredibly hard to develop their own styles and moves. Being compared to someone else can feel like their hard work isn’t being recognized.
  • It ignores their differences: Every wrestler brings something different to the ring. Comparisons can make it seem like they’re not unique or interesting on their own.
  • It can create pressure: If a wrestler is constantly compared to someone else, they might feel pressure to live up to that person’s accomplishments.

So, what can fans do?

Fans can help wrestlers feel appreciated by focusing on what makes them special. Here are some ideas:

  • Talk about their wrestling skills: Did they hit a cool move? Did they show great ring awareness? Point these things out!
  • Mention their personality: Does their character make you laugh? Do you admire their confidence? Let them know!
  • Cheer them on! The best way to show your support is to simply enjoy their work and root for them to succeed.

At the end of the day, wrestling is about entertainment. Wrestlers put their bodies on the line to put on a show for the fans. By appreciating their individual talents, fans can make wrestling even more enjoyable for everyone.

Bonus Fun Facts!

  • Did you know that WWE and AEW are kind of like different sports teams? They both have their own rosters of wrestlers and put on their own shows.
  • Wrestlers often create characters that they play in the ring. These characters can be anything from a superhero to a villain!
  • Wrestling is a combination of athleticism, acting, and storytelling. It takes a lot of skill to be a successful wrestler!
